Meet Dr. Felicia V. Swinney

Felicia V. Swinney, DMD, MS   -   Pediatric Dentist

“Dr. Felicia” is Board Certified with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and has extensive clinical training and experience in providing comprehensive dental care for infants, children, teens, and patients with special needs.  She is experienced in diagnosing and treating patients with interceptive orthodontic needs, managing acute dental trauma, and treating medically compromised patients under general anesthesia. Her research interests include the role of pediatric dentists in preventing and managing childhood obesity.

Dr. Felicia is a native of Augusta, GA and received her dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Following dental school she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program and served as a Dental Officer in the US Army. She provided dental care to soldiers in the US, Korea and Iraq. Dr. Swinney completed her Pediatric Dental Residency training at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and is currently an Adjunct Faculty Member in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry.  Dr. Swinney and her husband, Charlie, reside in Chapel Hill, NC with their dog, Louie.

Dr. Felicia will be leaving Durham Pediatric Dentistry at the end of June 2017. Her husband, Charles, will be finishing dental school and they will be moving closer to the Sanford, NC area.
